The call is open to Ontario based artists working in any media. Chosen works will be exhibited at the new Collingwood Public Library in the Community Gallery, Bridge Gallery, and Art Street from September 1 through 26, 2010. Artwork must incorporate text (in any language) or be inspired by it, whether as a literary character, scene, concept, setting, etc. The exhibit coincides with Collingwood’s new literary festival, Wordstock, running September 10 through 11, 2010.
TIMELINE SCHEDULE
Entries Deadline: August 13, 2010
Acceptance notifications sent out by email: August 20, 2010
Delivery of work to the library: Friday August 27, 2010 5-8pm, Saturday August 28, 2010 1-5.
Exhibition dates: September 1-26, 2010
Pick up date after show if works not sold: Monday, September 27 through October 2, 2010 during library hours.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Open to: Ontario based Artists.
Acceptance: Accepted work may be refused if it does not conform to the image entry or the submission guidelines, at the Curator’s discretion. No substitutions of accepted works will be allowed. All accepted work must remain at the library for the duration of the exhibit. Artists will be responsible for delivery and pick up or return shipping of all their artwork.
Sales: The library will retain a 30 % on all sales. A purchaser may not remove work until the end of the exhibition.
Delivery and Return: Hand delivered work accepted during business hours. Shipped work must be packaged in a reusable container. No Styrofoam peanuts. It is suggested a prepaid waybill for its return be enclosed. COD returns are not acceptable. It is suggested the artist retains shipping insurance.The gallery accepts no responsibility for work not retrieved or if return shipping is not pre-paid and organized by the pick up date. The library will charge the artist $2.00 a day thereafter for storage. After 30 days the library may dispose of the work.

- Contact Details of Artist: Name, Email Address, Address and Phone Number
- Link to Website, if available.
- CV, if not available on website.
- Digital Image for each artwork (up to 3) should be submitted in JPEG format and the images’ dimensions should not exceed 1600 pixels in any dimension and should have a maximum file size of 5 MB. Please label each JPEG image as follows: Last name_First name_title_ medium-dimensions. Jpg. Images can be emailed or mailed on a CD labeled with your name with entry fees.
- Payment by cheque or money order for $15 for each entry (up to three) mailed to the Library with ATTN: Chris Gough written on it.
