Community/alternative media is the most pro-active tool local
groups and grassroots organizations can utilize to get the word out
about issues or events that impact everyday citizens. It’s accessible,
user friendly, and eager to profile local champions. For the most part,
community/alternative media is uncensored and not beholden to any
political, corporate or government power. In a nutshell, this type of
media is a vital catalyst to active and vibrant community participation.
On May 9th, there will be a great deal of intelligent dialogue
about these issues including how this dialogue can motivate each of us
to make Smart Change in our communities. It’s worth an early morning
coffee run.
