JOB POSTING: CURATOR/EDUCATOR

Quest Art School and Gallery, a not-for-profit registered charity, located in Midland seeks a part-time Curator/Educator.

The curator/educator will work with a volunteer Board of Directors, volunteer committees and an office manager.

Responsibilities include:
  • Coordinate the transition to the new Midland Cultural Centre in fall of 2011
  • Curate all gallery and outreach exhibitions
  • Increase education and exhibition capacity
  • Research and write all grant applications
  • Assist Board of Directors with Strategic Planning

Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 3-5 years experience working within not-for-profit arts organizations
  • University  fine arts degree
  • A strong knowledge of and experience exhibiting contemporary art
  • Proven ability to develop and implement visual arts education programming
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Strong working knowledge of various computer and media programs (word, spreadsheets, graphics, web)

This is a part-time, contract position.  Remuneration is subject to confirmation of hours and commensurate with experience.
