Festival-goers can witness spontaneous musical collaborations that can only be found at EE and soak in the sounds created by Nicolas Collins, a pioneer in the use of microcomputers and circuit bending in live performance.
Additional headliners at the 5th annual Electric Eclectics Festival include HEALTH, Aids Wolf, dd/mm/yyyy, and John Kilduff’s Let’s Paint TV. More than 24 bands and solo performers will play at the 3 day festival, in addition to interactive sound and new media installations, films, and Djs.
Take in the stunning views of the Bighead River Valley overlooking Georgian Bay, and witness a live projection mix by the noted Canadian filmmaker Peter Mettler, whose films include “Gambling Gods and LSD” and “Pictures of Light”. Find the kinetic sculptural sound work installation by Marla Hlady, participate in the high camp performance art of Winnipeg’s Andrew Harwood aka Madame Zsa Zsa, and indulge in a downright eclectic collection of 16 mm scopiotone films from the vaults of Toronto’s underground film venue - Martin Heath’s Cinecycle.
Look for an installation featuring amplified insect percussion by artist Paul Walde and head into town to see farm machine sculptural works by local Walter’s Falls artist Steven White at the Meaford Museum.
The Funny Farm silo will showcase droll and amazing found films from Exercise your Eyes and a selection of archival videos from the ‘70’s from the collection of A Space co-founder Marion (Marien) Lewis.
Stay up late and view the cult classic film The Room directed by Tommy Wiseau known as the best bad movie of all time. Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yCj8sPCWfUw
