With degrees and diplomas having become de rigueur amongst the ‘creative class', The After School Special will examine the recent shift towards increasingly specialized education and unconventional methodologies.
In the late sixties, pedagogical approaches were uprooted and challenged through the advent of conceptually-based practices in art and design; multi-disciplinary practices which encompassed theory, philosophy, and architecture.
XPACE Cultural Centre has assembled a panel of emerging and established designers, artists, and curators who will discuss alternative pursuits of knowledge that challenge traditional pedagogical approaches.
Assembly Required is XPACE Cultural Centre's ongoing series of talks on processes and practices. Assembly Required invites local and international, emerging and established creative professionals to speak up about contemporary art and design.
