Announcing the 2019 Winter Higher Learning Season
at TIFF Bell Lightbox

Hello, and Happy New Year!

A key initiative of the Toronto International Film Festival is to mentor and advocate for emerging artists and creators. To this end, TIFF’s Higher Learning team organizes events that are intended to create a bridge to the film industry for current students and young creators. Our goal is to expose young people to a variety of possible career pathways in the creative industries, introduce them to established professionals who can share their experience, and create space to meet and learn from one another.

Events are free and tickets can be secured on a first-come, first-served basis. To inquire about availability and reserving a spot, please contact hlf@tiff.net. Our Winter 2019 events are below. We hope to see you there!

Drop in before the TIFF Next Wave Film Festival
Saturday, February 9  2pm
Collaboration is key for working in film and media, but it takes practice to be able to confidently connect with new people. In advance of the TIFF Next Wave Film Festival and the Young Creators Co-Lab, the day-long industry day, we encourage all aspiring artists, creators, and film lovers to join us for a fun and casual evening of networking. Perfect your elevator pitch, meet your next crew member, and practice making connections in the industry!
