PROGRAMS

Distributed Identities
February 25 – March 29, 2019
Application deadline: October 10

This residency is for visual artists whose work questions the role of culture, history, and gender in determining the communities with which we identify, participate, and create. The program is an ideal fit for artists with an exhibition record who have had formal training in visual arts, or equivalent experience and recognition from their peers.

Photography Practicum
February 4, 2019 – January 31, 2020
Application deadline: November 21

Learn through exposure to a wide range of projects under the supervision and mentorship of Banff Centre staff and faculty. Develop your skills in all types of photography and experience different areas of Banff Centre including the arts, leadership, mountain culture, and conference business. Do you have a keen interest in a career in photography and a willingness to learn? If yes, we'd love to hear from you!

Ghost Days: Making Art for Spirit
April 22 – May 17, 2019
Application deadline: November 28

This Indigenous Arts program is an experiment in conjuring and medium-ship, combined with art and collaboration with the living and with spirit. Participants will create works based on their personal relationship with the concept of spirit. Artists who are interested in exploring a new, multidisciplinary avenue into art and spirit are encouraged to apply.
