THE PRINT GARDEN: WORKSHOPS & ARTIST RESIDENCIES

PRINT LONDON is hosting a summer program of printmaking workshops and artist residencies that will explore washi (Japanese papers) as both surface for printmaking and as sculptural material. Programming includes a presentation and display on the history and uses of washi by the JAPANESE PAPER PLACE, followed by a series of hands-on workshops facilitated by professional Ontario artists who work with these papers. Participants who attend the workshops will also be eligible to continue working on a large-scale collaborative wall installation at SATELLITE PROJECT SPACE (London ON) - an evolving print and cut-paper ‘garden’ of 2D and 3D organic patterns on washi that will spread across the gallery walls. Three one-week artist residencies will accommodate two artists each week, who will contribute their work to the group project.
