Centre[3] for Print and Media Arts presents the dark holes of your eyes are turned toward the horizon. the dark holes of your eyes are turned toward the horizon features a selection of video and sound works that showcase Madsen Minax's experimental approach to filmmaking and issues of representation. Informed by documentary, science fiction, magical realism, and fantasy, Minax employs the tropes of each within his practice to create works that operate outside of the categories of classification. Exploring themes of memory, the body, engagement, intimacy, and violence, the artist addresses the multiplicity that exists within states of transgression, the ongoing negotiation of identity, and the complications of familial relations.
