The Wallflower Series
Wallflower is the story of feminine and fragile bodies. In the magnified glimpses of historical floral still life paintings, Clyne uses varying arrangements of the grid to form narrative structures for the cut flowers that act as surrogate body and protagonist. Merging geometric rigour with lush painterly details, Clyne’s new paintings portray the fraught nature of seeing and of being seen.
