Marko Mäetamm: A personal narrative from the Baltics

401 Richmond and Hamilton’s Cotton Factory will host the internationally renowned Estonian artist, Marko Mäetamm. He will discuss his career and influences, especially in light of the restoration of Estonia’s independence.

Marko is one of the most active and productive contemporary artists on the Estonian art scene. His creative career includes numerous international exhibitions, including the Venice Biennales of 2003 and 2007. Mäetamm’s work is drenched in dark humour and he utilizes a variety of means and methods to explore a range of pressing socio-political issues. Graphic art, painting, drawing, sculpture, installation, and video elements frequently blend together into highly conceptual and deeply irreverent installations.

Where: UrbanSpace Gallery, 401 Richmond St. W

When: Nov 23, 2017, 7pm – 9pm
