Editions Launch at Art Toronto, Booth B23
27 – 30 October 2017, Metro Toronto Convention Centre

Mercer Union will launch two new editions at Art Toronto: Mercer Edition 2017 by Duane Linklater, and the 2017-18 Member Edition by Oliver Husain.

For Mercer Edition 2017, Mercer Union has collaborated with Duane Linklater to produce Decoy – a series of 12 decoys cast in solid bronze, modelled after tamarack versions made by artists in the James Bay, Treaty No. 9 area. These decoys are not actually used for the annual goose hunt (which is still an important spring and fall event in James Bay), but are instead made for tourists who wish to purchase something ‘authentic’ from Omaskeko Ininiwak people in far Northern Ontario.

Toronto-based filmmaker and artist Oliver Husain has designed Mercer Union’s 2017-18 Member Edition entitled Mercèr Jungle. This glamorous silk twill scarf is available at Art Toronto for both new and existing members. Visit our booth to view Mercer Union's first in-house brand campaign, featuring Rusty. Existing members can collect their scarf at the fair, or expect it by mail this winter. Memberships are available for purchase at Mercer Union, over the phone at 416.536.1519 or online at http://www.mercerunion.org/join-support/

Mercer Multiplier 2017
Tuesday 14 November, Doors open at 6PM – Draw at 7PM

Mercer Union has asked 25 artists to each contribute works in limited editions of five, less than or equal to 20x30”. Purchase a ticket to be guaranteed a work at the event – ticket numbers will be drawn in random order giving you one minute to select. Enjoy complimentary food and beverages as participants vie for their favourites!

Each $200 ticket entitles the holder to one edition, to be selected by numbered draw the night of the event.
