Rouge: Varley Gala

Thursday, October 12, 2017

Crystal Fountain Event Venue
60 McDowell Gate, Markham

6 PM Cocktails | 7 PM Dinner
Live and Silent Auctions
Tickets: $150 Individual | $2000 Corporate Table

The elegant sophistication of Crystal Fountain Event Venue sets the stage for our interactive fundraising evening, featuring a cocktail reception, delicious three course meal, live performance by renowned Canadian musician Jim Cuddy, Live and Silent auctions and more! The theme of the gala is influenced by a number important events occurring this year: the 20th Anniversary of the Varley Art Gallery of Markham, Canada 150 and the 100th anniversary of Tom Thomson’s passing.

Rouge. One of our national colours, in one of our official national languages celebrated in a milestone year for Canada. An event held in autumn, the time of year when the leaves change to various shades of red and orange. Tom Thomson and the Group of Seven were dedicated to capturing the majestic Canadian landscape and the brilliant colours of autumn for all to enjoy. Frederick Horsman Varley was one of the founding members of the Group of Seven and lived on Main Street in Unionville from 1957-1969. The Varley Art Gallery is located at the corner of Main Street Unionville and Carlton Road, overlooking Toogood Pond and Toogood Pond feeds into the Rouge River.
