Ryerson University, 350 Victoria Street, Room LIB-72

Join artist Suzy Lake for a talk on her work, in conjunction with the exhibition Scotiabank Photography Award: Suzy Lake, now on view until August 13, 2017 at the Ryerson Image Centre. Click here to book your free ticket, while supplies last. Following the event, the RIC will remain open until 9:00 pm to allow for viewing after the lecture.

The exhibition celebrates the career of Canadian artist Suzy Lake, 2016 Scotiabank Photography Award winner, renowned internationally for her work on self-representation, female identity and the aging body. This survey of more than fifty objects, made between 1976 and 2014, brings focus to Lake’s artistic process and methodologies. Including never-before-seen photographs, maquettes and working materials, the exhibition examines this important artist’s career of experimentation and unwavering efforts through the years to push the boundaries of the photographic medium. The exhibition is presented by Scotiabank, organized by the RIC, and is a primary exhibition of the Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival.
