THEME: THE WALL

How does the symbolic representation of the wall structure the politics of identity, or separate our personal beliefs? What walls do we need to build or break down to build self-esteem and confidence in ourselves and our relationships?

ABOUT THE SHOW

The Love Show is a juried exhibition of 6"x6" original artwork. All pieces will be auctioned on opening night with an opening bid of $50. When work is sold, the first $50 goes to the artist, and all remaining money goes to support programs at Sistering.

HISTORY

Since its creation in 2002, the Love Show has worked to raise awareness about the privilege that surrounds us and our responsibility to support organizations that help others. This year's proceeds will support the community-based organization Sistering and Inspirations Studio.

Sistering is an organization that offers practical and emotional support to women through programs which enable them to take greater control over their lives. Inspirations Studio is an art-based micro business incubator for low-income women who have been impacted by poverty, homelessness, trauma and mental health issues.

Reception & Silent Auction: Thursday Nov 8, 2012. From 7-10pm
Submission Deadline: Friday October 19th, 2012. Drop off 4pm @ 918 Bathurst
Submission Fee: $30 for up to two pieces; $10 for additional pieces
