Pride 2012

The Art Gallery of York University (AGYU) comes out to Pride, on wheels.

Artists Hazel Meyer and Logan MacDonald used their alteregos DJ Sis 'n Bro to solicit queer love anthems from queer students at York University, and then in collaboration with these same students (and their allies) transformed these lyrics into banners writ large – words and music to stand by, march alongside, and raise your fist to.

The result, love love love love, an effusive and spirited artist project taking the form of the cut-up meets live-action karaoke, is an incitement to sing along with the AGYU's very affectionate Pride float for this year, in collaboration with the York Federation of Students and Trans Bi Lesbian Gay Allies at York.

Come and check us out as we cut a swath through the annual Pride parade this Sunday, July 1, or better yet, march with us and hoist a loving banner and hear our anthems by meeting the artists and students at the corner of Church and Bloor at 10 am of that day. Just look for the AGYU, YFS, and TBLGAY flags. Music, water, and love on board the truck!

love love love love is supported and produced by the Art Gallery of York University, the York Federation of Students, and Trans Bi Lesbian Gay Allies at York. An army of lovers will never be defeated.

AGYU is so out.
