FUSION: The Ontario Clay and Glass Association is proud to present Ottawa Mentorship Workshop 2012/2013 www.clayandglass.on.ca

These workshops are intended to be significant learning experiences that are transformative for the participating artists. The program is designed for practicing ceramic artists who have established a personal aesthetic over several years of studio work. The focus of this mentorship will be on supporting the development of the capacities of individual makers interested in evolving their work. Participants will be encouraged to push their current bounds through exploring and expanding conceptual and technical aspects of their work. Group discussions and feedback will play an essential role in supporting the creative process and work development.

Clay Mentorship Workshops– Ottawa and North Bay

Leta Cormier will be mentoring for ceramic artists in the Ottawa region. Leta has been making pottery, reduction fired stoneware, porcelain and raku, in the Ottawa area for 37 years. Her work is informed by an interest in the pottery traditions of Japan, Korea, China and the Cycladic culture. She has studied pottery in Nova Scotia, British Columbia, England and Japan.

The mentoring sessions for the clay program will be held at Leta's studio at 5950 Third Line Rd.N., North Gower, Ontario.

The start date for Leta Cormier's Mentorship Workshop will be Sunday, September 16, 2012 and participants will meet every five weeks. There will be three sessions in the fall and five sessions through the winter and spring, finishing June 2013.

Keith Campbell will be mentoring for ceramic artists in the North Bay area. Keith has been a ceramic artist and educator for over 40 years. He has exhibited his work in over 270 exhibitions nationally and internationally winning numerous awards. He has conducted workshops across Canada and the USA.

Keith's workshop is hosted by Canadore College at 100 College Drive, North Bay, ON, P1B 4P8. All meetings will take place there.

The start date for Keith Campbell's Mentorship Workshop will be Sunday September 9, 2012 and participants will meet every five weeks. There will be three sessions in the fall and five through the winter and spring finishing June 2013.
