Artscape YOUNGplace is a $12-million adaptive reuse project which will transform the century-old Shaw Street School into a centre for arts and community in West Queen West. Creative workspaces are available for purchase to professional artists and non-profit arts and community organizations at below-market rates. Take a tour at one of our Open Houses in June!

Studios from 500-1,000 sq.ft.

Ideal for creative production and public programming

"Being able to purchase a studio and owning a space to work in the heart of the city will be invaluable
to my artistic practice. It gives me a sense of security that renting never could."

— Studio Owner, Artscape YOUNGplace

A Creative Cluster

Artscape YOUNGplace brings together a diverse mix of creative people, organizations and audiences. In addition to private studios, the building will feature a contemporary art gallery, performance and training facilities, a café and more. For full owner and tenant bios, click here>

Queen West Culture

Located at 180 Shaw Street, Artscape YOUNGplace lies in the heart of the West Queen West Art + Design District, just steps from Trinity-Bellwoods Park and the lively Ossington Avenue strip. This neighbourhood has the highest concentration of creative workers and art galleries in Toronto and is home to cultural hubs like The Theatre Centre, Gladstone Hotel, Drake Hotel, and the Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art (MoCCA).

Below-Market Real Estate

Below-market rates are achieved through an innovative financing program by Artscape, a not-for-profit organization with 25 years of experience developing creative space. Artscape will provide a 25% no-interest, payment-free second mortgage on each work studio, which will bring the purchase price below-market. To view the sales package, click here>
