Advancements in digital photography have democratized image making and given it an immediacy, utility and appeal it has never had before.
As part of the Contact Photography Festival, Hangman Art Gallery will be showing digital and printed images taken with smartphones. These images reflect daily realities, both the mundane and the exceptional, in contemporary society. During the show new submissions will be exhibited.

"To further explore the meaning of diversity and pride, Hangman Art Gallery is looking for submissions regarding an individual's secret urges, fetishes and peculiarities.
2 dimensional work no larger than 40" on longest side
3 D - largest base size 12" x 12" for plinths or 7' high max free-standing on floor.
SUBMISSION Deadline May 27th @ 5pm Send jpeg images less than 10 inches on one side, no greater than 2MG to <email@example.com>.
Final pieces: Submitted art must be ready for exhibition upon acceptance.
Submission fee: $35 general public/$25 for Artists' Network Members for max 3 pieces
Jurying will take place May 28th.

14th Annual Riverdale Art Walk is traditionally Toronto's first outdoor art festival of the season and is attended by thousands of visitors and art buyers in the trendy Riverside District. Retail venues, galleries and artists participating from DVP/Queen East to Jimmie Simpson Park. RAW is presented annually by the Artists' Network.
Hangman Art Gallery is located in the middle of an exciting neighbourhood of creative and visual arts professionals. It is the home of the Artists' Network.
It supports a thriving fine arts community by providing exhibition spaces to connect art lovers and collectors with Artists' Network members and non-members alike. It is a venue where artists from all stages of their career can meet and showcase their personal perceptions of the realities of contemporary life.
