Bank on Art at 952 Queen St. West (Toronto) is pleased to present Habitat, a special project for Contact 2012, May 1 – May 31, conceived by visual artist Ingrid Mayrhofer. The Habitat images reflect Mayrhofer's travel documentation in Las Vegas and the shared Facebook responses to the images. The series of work comments on the illusions/props created to replicate the natural environment for purposes of entertainment or security.

Ingrid Mayrhofer is a visual artist, curator and community arts practitioner. She received her arts education at York University and has worked and exhibited in Canada and abroad. Recent exhibitions include the 7th Gongju International Art Festival (Korea) and several James Street North projects (Hamilton), which featured images from her intervention with culture and nature on an abandoned farm in Tay Township.

BANK on ART is a project showcasing contemporary artworks on the display screen of a functional bank machine. Developed by artist and curator Kelly McCray, this money-dispensing ATM features images produced by contemporary artists before and after each banking transaction.
