Blackwood Gallery presents:

Running with Scissors 2012

Running With Scissors offers exciting weeklong programs designed to introduce contemporary art to children and youth ages 5 to 12. Inspired by contemporary art history as well as traditional methods, campers will experiment with a variety of artistic media throughout the summer, including painting, drawing, sculpture, mixed media, performance, and more.

All of the camps are run out of the Blackwood Gallery on the University of Toronto Mississauga Campus. For summer 2012, our fun and educational camps include:


5-8 year olds:
Week 1: July 3 – 6: Mix It Up!
Week 2: July 9 – 13: Experimental Drawing and Painting
Week 3: July 16 – 20: Comics and Characters
Week 4: July 23 – 27: Sculpture
Week 5: July 30 – August 3: Art and Nature
Week 6: August 7 – 10: Strange Landscapes
Week 7: August 13 – 17: Acting Out
Week 8: August 20 – 24: Mixed Media

9-12 year olds:
Week 1: July 3 – 6: Mix It Up!
Week 2: July 9 – 13: Experimental Drawing and Painting
Week 3: July 16 – 20: Art and the Environment
Week 4: July 23 – 27: Sculpture
Week 5: July 30 – August 3: Artist Books and Paper Works
Week 6: August 7 – 10: Comics and Characters
Week 7: August 13 – 17: Art and Architecture
Week 8: August 20 – 24: Mixed Media


Hours: Weekdays from 9:00am-4:00pm. Extended Care hours are available.
Cost: $225 per week (or $180 per four-day week).
