PHOTOMAGIC 44

A Photography Summer Camp for Teens at Gallery 44

Experience the magic of the darkroom!

PhotoMagic 44 is a five-day photography camp for youth aged 13 -19. This innovative and intensive week-long camp will utilize the extensive production and darkroom facilities at Gallery 44, located in the 401 Richmond arts building, a hub of creativity housing many galleries and art organizations. During this camp, teens will be immersed in a professional creative context in the heart of downtown Toronto.


Participants will:

Shoot their own photos with a manual 35 mm film camera (provided by Gallery 44)

Print black and white photographs in a traditional wet darkroom

See and learn about contemporary art and artists in Toronto

Learn alternative photo techniques such as photograms and pinhole.

Take photographic field trips to such locations as Kensington Market or the AGO!


Two sessions

July 9 to 13 & July 16 to 20, 10 am – 4pm


Cost: $425

Fee includes all materials and equipment.
