The Katzman Kamen Gallery is pleased to present an exhibition by Blue Republic, titled 12:02. The exhibit runs from March 9 to April 7, 2012. An official opening will be held on Friday, March 9 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00p.m. with the artists present.12:02 brings together installation/mural, photographic works and objects created in response to the sense of emergency created by the current global situation.
Changing social, economic, political and environmental paradigms require a reconsideration of the artistic language that can be used to describe present reality. That new language refers to new methods of recording and production, new relations between the artist and audience and new critical and theoretical reflections. At its core lies the concept of the contemporary artist as a witness whose role is that of an active participant in solidarity with the events and people that provoke their art.
