Scotiabank Nuit Blanche now accepting submissions for 2012

Preparation for Toronto's next all night contemporary art event is well underway. As in previous years, the Scotiabank Nuit Blanche program will include a mix of City-produced Exhibition and Open Call projects, as well as Independent Projects that will transform city streets on Saturday, September 29, 2012.

Information Session

There are two different ways artists and venues can participate in next year's event:  either as part of an Open Call Project or an Independent Project.  Those interested in submitting an application are encouraged to attend an information session hosted by the City of Toronto. It is an opportunity to, ask questions, share ideas and meet event organizers and other artists. The information session will take place Monday, November 21 at City Hall, 100 Queen Street West, 2nd floor in Committee Room 2 starting at 7 pm.

Applications are now being accepted for Open Call projects.

The City-produced exhibition includes Open Call projects, smaller scale works produced specifically for the event. They are selected by a curator in consultation with the City of Toronto to work within the theme of the curatorial vision. Funding and production support is provided. Open Call submission deadline: December 19, 2011. View complete details here http://www.toronto.ca/special_events/nuitblanche/participate.htm

Independent Projects call for submissions.

Each year's event also features close to 100 independent projects consisting of self-funded installations created by galleries, schools, neighbourhoods, community organizations or individual artists. Selected projects are chosen by the Scotiabank Nuit Blanche Artistic Advisory Committee. The Independent Project submission process and criteria will be announced early in December.
