SUPERVISOR, ARTS AND CULTURE
COMMUNITY PROGRAMS
QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from a recognized post secondary college or university in Fine Arts, Social Sciences, Public Administration or related field and 3 years experience in the development and delivery of arts and culture programs to the public. Knowledge of program design, customer service, budget management, volunteer group dynamics required. Passionate understanding and commitment to arts and culture required along with clear understanding of the need to ensure quality and standards are applied to cultural programs focused on teaching an artistic skill. Motivated self-starter with excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be able to demonstrate leadership skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will: Organize, administer and supervise comprehensive City-wide Arts and Culture programs while maintaining existing City program standards; create new programs to generate revenue; identify community needs and interests for Arts and Culture programming and implement appropriate programs; select, train, supervise and evaluate part-time staff; evaluate programs and service; develop and adhere to program budget; prepare statistical reports and maintain administrative records; act as a resource for all program districts; ensure programs receive adequate promotion; liaise with a variety of performing arts and culture community groups; participate in initial review of grant applications; and perform other related duties as assigned.
NOTE: You will be required to work flexible hours (i.e.: days, evenings and weekends including holidays) as necessary.
SALARY: $60,608 - $80,812
