Taking shape according to the most current work within each artist's practice, Ineffable Plasticity considers the idea that all human attributes and activity are an expression of nature. The exhibition looks at nature as an unstoppable force that governs and defines us, challenging the notion that anything, whether psychological or physical, could be construed as unnatural.

Chinese artist Ah Xian's evocative China,China-Busts are part of this selection of sculptures, drawings and textiles from the National Gallery of Canada's permanent collection that explores the symbiosis between humanity and nature through realms of mythology, cultural history and oral traditions.

Artur Zmijewski | Them and Human/Nature are presented as part of the three year National Gallery of Canada at the Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art program that will see the two institutions co-organize and co-present a series of exclusive exhibitions in MOCCA's newly-renovated project space, drawn from the NGC's extensive contemporary art collection. These will include the presentation of single works, new acquisitions or full scale exhibitions designed to complement MOCCA's existing programming.The National Gallery of Canada at the Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art is generously supported by Cineplex Media, Porter Airlines, and The Ouellette Family Foundation. Additional support is provided by AXA Art Canada. The Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art is also grateful for the patronage of THE ART DEPT. a leadership circle of MOCCA patrons.
