Two Juried Exhibitions: Scapes / Black & White Ball

In order to fight off the winter blues Propeller is organizing two exciting juried exhibitions for the month on February.

Scapes

Exhibition Dates: February 2-13, 2011

Deadline for Submission: January 21, 2011

Landscapes reflect the living synthesis of people and place. They are the dynamic backdrops to people's lives.

Does your work include an horizon line (or not)? Do you paint, draw, photograph collage, sculpt or digitize something to do with the land (or sea)? Then submit it for inclusion in Scapes.

Escape the winter doldrums and show off your landscapes at Propeller's juried group show this February 2 -13, 2011.

A submission fee of $40.00 per entry is required. There is also a 25% commission collected on any work sold as a result of this exhibition. Reasonable sized work is expected.

Submissions Requirements:

1. Send an image of your entry on a CD – please make sure to identify the title, medium, and size of the art work.
2. Brief Artist Statement
3. A Short Bio

Deadline for submission is Friday, January 21, 2011. The artists whose work is selected will be contacted by email within a few days. Delivery instructions will be given at that time.

Black & White Ball

Exhibition Dates: February 16 - 27, 2011

Deadline for submission is February 4, 2011

A juried exhibition featuring works in black and white.

Propeller is seeking works in black and white. All mediums and approaches are welcomed.

The exhibit is inspired by Truman Capote's 1966, Black and White Ball, held at the Grand Ballroom of New York City's Plaza Hotel. It was considered to be "the most posh event, not just of the year, but also of the decade, and maybe even the century"

Iconic, bitchy, mysterious, elegant...just some of the many adjectives used to describe the event, and the guests. Lets these inspire and engage you...

In conjunction Propeller will be hosting a Black and White reception, on Thursday, February 17 from 7 to 10 PM.

A submission fee of $40.00 per entry is required. There is also a 25% commission collected on any work sold as a result of this exhibition.
